The SBRM. known as the Lagos men Confraternity, Atabo Confraternity, Fanta Nation or even UPRIGHT Movement. Was formed in the 70’s. The founder and first head a military Captain, and a Head of State. Captain Thomas Sankara who was the then President of the country Burkina Faso. It’s main motive was to fight against corruption,tyranny, injustice, oppression,rape, kidnapping and other societal vices and most especially colonialism.

The name Burkina Faso meaning “LAND OF UPRIGHTS” was given by Capt. Thomas Sankara from the then corrupt, oppressed and colonialist influenced state of Upper Volta. The Revolution movement of SBRM. first came into Nigeria in Lagos State. Idumota. This Revolutionary movement was formed to uplift the the goals and upright steps of it’s founder and Leader an Upright young military Captain and one time Head of State. Captain Thomas Isdore Noel Sankara. This movement known by the following names: B.F, ATB, 26 MEN, UPRIGHT SOLDIER’S, LAGOS MEN,EKO etc. Started in Lagos State” Idumota Father Temple”(EKO) with prominent members like Ojuku, IBB (one time Head of State.)etc .It later advanced and settled in Enugu state”The Mother Temple”in a town called Nnsuka in the University there. Where it at first recruited only law students getting it’s dressing as shirt and pants with a neat polished pair of shoes and red or white socks. It has lots of members in the Eastern regions of Nigeria.

The motto of the movement is : S.S “SELFLESS SERVICES TO HUMANITY”…. The world can be a better place if only we strive to love and live Upright. Getting them the tittle Loving Soldiers. Like no other brotherhood or organization it offers total Selfless services to humanity in all it aspects. That’s why their first command is no stealing. Any Atabo or Eko or Rugged driver as they love being called caught stealing is severely sanctioned. They are known to be decent but with a saying no gentleman for Eko. Cause as Soldiers they are disciplined and trained to be decent and notedly any verified member is either a student or graduate. They are not seen in the streets as touts or barrow pushers. They believe in a philosophy “YOUR BROTHER BEFORE SELF” which if adapted to any society will make it flourish.

The SBRM flag is that of The State of Burkina Faso. With their color as Red, White,Green with the yellow star.

Uniformly dressed with the Red Barret with a white ribbon attached to it. White or red shirt or polo,red or white pants, red or white socks and a green booth or black booth. The red standing for excitement, Patriotism,danger, festivity, Revolution,war, passion, vigour… The white standing for purity, serenity, peace,unity, wisdom, love,care and services…. The Green standing for military, fertility, prosperity, gallantry and political consciousness.

The various branches of the Burkina Faso Revolutionary Movement are refered to as “BASE” implying their claim of military and political self. For the University structure. But there are other structures but won’t be discussed here. Let’s Lnz about the Higher Institution. The Base has its various Senior Military Officials who carryout the official functions and directs the members known as Nabels or Upright Soldiers. The highest official. Who is the Head of State and military dictator known as The Rage,Iroko,head of State,etc is the one that verifies and carry out all ceremonial functions. The deputy is the G.O.C who is General Officer in Command he directs all orders and activities of the Base and Soldiers. Followed by the Director of Operations who is in charge of all military tactics and action activities, there are 1,2,3,4,5,6. Then followed by The Cuper Intelligent who owns the activities going on in the campus. Then follows the OBTER. he is the one in charge of the accounts,money and treasury ,Then the Intelligent officers such as: T.S Co-ordinator who is in charge of the teachings, training,sports and academic life of Nabels. Then another Intelligent officer the I.M who is in charge of all reports and secretary. Then we have many other special officials depending on base and functions. Followed by all other Nabels or Soldiers. In the SBRM everyone is believed to be equal. But Hierarchy and Seniority on Base is highly observed .The finding Father(s) are strictly respected with strict discipline. Nabels are meant to carry out functions,orders etc given with humility, Uprightness and kindness. There is also one of their most valued decree and order which states ” Present super past” that’s active schooling Nabels before Past Nabels. No arounding. Their number been 26. They celebrate and meet every 26 day of every month. But their feast day and memorial of Sankara is 15th of October, Annually. Their orientations forbids theft,touting and rape. Thier movement is called driving making each a driver. And is believed that they should have cars in future or life. Thier official language is French or Mossi . They have the believe that all Nabels are priest and Soldiers.
